Key Media Concepts
Target Audience: The target audience is the people who the media product is aimed at. The main audience is known as the "Key Audience"Genre: Genre is the type of programme or film you're watching. e.g. for a television programme there is: soap opera & Reality T.V. And for example in films there is: Comedy & Horror.
Conventions of a film: "Conventions" are the key feature of a film. e.g. in a horror film you can expect to see a good looking girl in a secluded house in the middle of no where at night time..
Code: Code is a way of telling the audience something but without using words. This can be done with the way props are used, e.g. If a pumpkin was in use, the viewer would assume it is Halloween without the actor having to stand and tell them that it is.
